Bērni sēž pie galda un darina Ziemassvētku dāvanas. Pie sienas puzuri

This programme is designed for school-age students in grades 1–6.

During the Christmas season, thoughts turn to inner light, kindness, and the joy of giving. The programme is organised as a creative workshop in which each participant makes a heartfelt handmade gift — a surprise to place under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve for a mother, father, grandmother, or another loved one.

After the gifts are prepared, students gather together to solve riddles, play traditional games, and tell fortunes about the coming year. By prior arrangement with the Turaida blacksmith, participants can also try traditional fortune casting at the forge and, by watching the shapes formed in the shadows, glimpse their future.

The festive atmosphere is enhanced by the scent of the Christmas tree, candlelight, and treats of gingerbread and warm aromatic tea.

Additional options

  • Fortune casting at the blacksmith’s forge — additional fee; advance arrangement required with Turaida blacksmith Andris Ščeglovs, mobile: +371 29490869.
